Light spread across the land. It was morning, as it always was in Dragon\u2019s Grove, a plateau past the Gate. The dazzling light was so sudden, that Birdhead\u2019s eyes shrieked, and he had to close them. A blue light sealed the Gate; Melody went over to touch it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt\u2019s solid. We can\u2019t get out.\u201d she said with worry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
WELCOME. <\/strong>The voice echoed along the walls with a majestic tone across the plateau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAck!\u201d Birdhead yelped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n NO NEED TO YELL. I AM THE DRAGON LORD, DEKU. WELCOME TO THE TRIAL! I AM GLAD ALL OF YOU ARE HERE! SO HERE, LET ME EXPLAIN EVERYTHING. THERE ARE THREE TRIALS, OF POWER, WISDOM AND COURAGE. EACH REWARDS YOU WITH A COURAGE ORB, WHICH YOU CAN CHUCK INTO THE FIRE FOUNTAIN, AKA THE COURAGE FLAME, THEN A BOSS WILL APPEAR, AND YOU MUST DEFEAT IT. AFTER YOU HAVE FOUGHT ALL BOSSES, I WILL PRESENT YOU THE FIRE.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWhere to start?\u201d Zelda asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As though answering Zelda\u2019s question, a wide, stone platform with a large \u2018fountain\u2019 of fire sitting on top, rose from the fresh grass. The Mythicals walked slowly towards it, while taking in the once-in-a-lifetime scenery. They stood around the platform, looking at it with interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n RIGHT, YOU CAN PICK YOUR TRIALS NOW.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Walls of smooth stone arose around the spacious plateau, as four dark cave entrances engraved in the wall revealed themselves. They were each placed on a direction on a compass – North, East, South and West. Narrow paths leading towards the caves formed with small stone pebbles falling like rain from the endless heavens, yet the north cave seemed to be closed and shut off by long, spiky vines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n OH, YEAH, AND DON\u2019T TRY ENTERING MY CAVE WITH THOSE SPIKY VINES, \u2018CUZ I DON\u2019T WANT YOU MYTHICIMALS TO DIE.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWhich one first, then?\u201d Zelda asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe should follow Birdhead.\u201d Peachu insisted. \u201cAfter all, your prophecy mentioned only a phoenix could hold the Fire of Courage.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIt did? What about Myrtlelana?\u201d Birdhead said quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI won\u2019t want it, for one,\u201d Myrtlelana sighed. \u201cBesides, Zelda meant for you to the phoenix in our team, because she approached you. I just joined…because I did.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWait, then, why did you choose me, Zelda?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWhy not? Little light was given in the extensive area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Zip!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cOW!\u201d Zelda yelled, and Birdhead saw it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The small Ashdragon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He built up power in his lungs, and with careful aim, whoosh<\/em>, and a flash of fire shrivelled up the body and it vanished in a puff of purple smoke, like the ordinary Bokoblin death you see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI guess that\u2019s how they die,\u201d Peachu said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Zip!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n The hit was obviously meant for Peachu, but she swatted it hard, and it turned into a puff of purple smoke, too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Zip! Zip! Zip!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n All of them missed, and the cave was lit up with a bright spark of light, caused by Myrtlelana, Birdhead and Melody\u2019s fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n HUH, YOU GUYS ARE GOOD. MAYBE I MADE IT TOO EASY. WAIT, OOPS. UH-OH. PLEASE DEAL WITH IT.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n ROOOOOOOOOOAR!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n A dark Ashdragon ten times the size of Birdhead formed from the stone ground. Its eyes were red this time, and its scales were pitch black.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cROOOOOOOOAR!\u201d Melody imitated, attempting to blow fire at it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYou can\u2019t hurt it, Melody, it\u2019s a Nightmare Ashdragon.\u201d Beakfall said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cEasy, then, copy me,\u201d Zelda smiled. \u201cLA LA LA LA ROAR BLAH BLAH LA LA LA LA LA!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cOw! My ears!\u201d Melody moaned, using her claws to cover them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAnti-lullaby, good idea,\u201d Myrtlelana said. \u201cLA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Soon, the whole cave was filled with the ear-splitting sound of the anti-lullaby. \u201cNoooooo,\u201d the Nightmare groaned. \u201cNup, shut up, shut up…\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Nightmare groaned and grew smaller and smaller until poof<\/em>, disappeared into purple smoke, too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n THERE IS SOMETHING CURSED <\/em>ABOUT YOU GUYS. HOW ARE YOU EVEN DOING THIS?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe are experienced, Deku.\u201d Birdhead explained sarcastically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cNah, I got that anti-lullaby idea from a random scroll I was reading a few days ago, when the prophecy about Ashgle came to me.\u201d Zelda said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n OH, RIGHT. YOU ARE A PROPHET. WELL, THAT CERTAINLY MAKES STUFF A LOT HARDER. WELL, APPARENTLY SPHINXES <\/em>HAVE THE ABILITY TO BLOCK THEMSELVES AWAY FROM FUTURES OTHERS SEE. GOOD LUCK!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHuh?\u201d Melody asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A streak light appeared in the middle of the cave, and slowly, a sphinx floated down from magically from the top, as if there was no roof. It was impossible to tell how she came, because the light was so blinding at the top it could blind an eagle completely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The sphinx lifted a paw. She had orange hair and yellow skin, with a body shaped like a lion\u2019s, head too, except a bit more human-like. Large white wings spread on the sides of her body, and a tail of fire curved into the shape of an \u2018S\u2019. Her eyes were turquoise of colour, and she wore a warm smile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHello, I am a sphinx, by the name of Lionessfire,\u201d she greeted. \u201cI will give you riddles. Three answered correctly in a row, or one complex answered correctly, and you will receive a Courage Orb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Mythicals nodded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI am the highest castle, I am shorter than the sky, and I was set on the ground by nature, yet I do not grow.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWell, it\u2019s definitely <\/em>NOT a tree,\u201d Melody said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe ocean? No, it\u2019s not the highest castle, which the highest castle I assume is Ashgle\u2019s castle.\u201d Peachu noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAshgle doesn\u2019t really have a castle, it\u2019s more a mountain.\u201d Melody snorted. \u201cIt IS a mountain, anyway. The \u2018castle.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYou just said the answer, Melody. Mountain, Lionessfire?\u201d Birdhead asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cCorrect.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI destroy everything in my way. Buildings, weather, history. What, in our saying, is worth gold?\u201d Peachu started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI dunno. Gold?\u201d Zelda answered, shrugging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cLife? No, that\u2019s worth much more.\u201d Melody groaned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIt destroys history, so, since that\u2019s back in time, that means we\u2019ll need a time machine. So it\u2019s something related to a one, but since they don\u2019t exist that can\u2019t the answer,\u201d Myrtlelana tried.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cSo, we can split the word \u2018time machine\u2019 into two, does time work? Hey… wait, it might be the answer! Machine? No, a candy machine can\u2019t destroy history, sooo…\u201d Peachu continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cTIME!\u201d Birdhead yelled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cCorrect, next riddle.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cMy wings are weak from birth, strong in adulthood. My tail curved and my claws powerful. Fire rests in my heart, yet it can be set and turned to Ash. My fear is not fire, water, lightning or winds, but the dark one that rises every ten thousand years.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWho\u2019s the dark one?\u201d Melody asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAshgle, duh,\u201d Peachu replied. \u201cBut I never knew he revived every 10,000 years. That\u2019s kinda creepy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWell, that\u2019s a bit of a useless clue, not to mention everyone fears Ashgle.\u201d Birdhead pointed out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIs it a phoenix?\u201d Zelda asked. \u201cBirdhead?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cReasonable, since phoenixes metaphorically have a fire in their heart, weak wings at birth, and because the Ashgle was once a phoenix, yeah, I guess so. So, phoenix?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cNo. Incorrect.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWHAT?\u201d the Mythicals (except Beakfall) yelled in disbelief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI was just about to say, that phoenixes don\u2019t have a curved tail,\u201d Beakfall interrupted. \u201cI was going to suggest dragon.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWell, that\u2019s correct,\u201d Lionessfire revealed. \u201cDragon is the answer, as they can be enslaved and turned to Ash by the Ashgle. Re-count, now you need to get three more correct, but I want to test you something hard.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2018Destruction and war; evil and ruins.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n No tread of light, no trail of hope.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n An age of not anger, an age of not malice,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n But the Incarnation of Hatred.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n When it begins, the thunder and ash<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Will strike the realm<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n And the fire will turn from light to shadow.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Thus, the age of calamity begins.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThat\u2019s a prophecy, but I\u2019ve never heard of it,\u201d Zelda said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe Prophecy of Shadow<\/em>, which will happen if you unsuccessfully destroy Ashgle. Now, the question is: Which tribe founded this prophecy?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cNow that IS hard,\u201d Birdhead muttered. \u201cAny clues?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWell, Lord Deku mentioned it to you,\u201d Lionessfire replied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Beakfall pointed at Lionessfire and winked at Birdhead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWhat? Lionessfire? Wait, do you mean,\u201d Birdhead stopped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cSphinxes!\u201d Peachu yelled. \u201cWith the power to block themselves from futures others see!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n I SHOULDN\u2019T HAVE TOLD YOU THAT.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cCorrect,\u201d Lionessfire said. \u201cYou have a smart hippogriff.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n She held her right paw in front of her, and a small sphere of light orange energy formed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n THERE YOU GO, YOUR FIRST COURAGE ORB. THROW IT AT THE FIRE FOUNTAIN AND MEET YOUR FIRST BOSS.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAnother thing,\u201d Lionessfire added, \u201cAs a reward to completing the hardest mode, or level, I will join your team.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Birdhead took the glowing orb, and the team turned to the sealed doorway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The blue light blocking the entrance of the cave faded away, and the Mythicals joyfully walked out. They retraced their steps to the Fire Fountain, the Courage Flame. Birdhead stepped up to the fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And unleashed the boss of Flames.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A fiery dragon with glowing green eyes emerged from the fountain. \u201cI AM AN INCARNATION OF POWER, AND THE DRAGON LORD, DEKU, THE FIRE WING. FACE ME! NO FIRE SHALL HURT ME.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Fire Wing quickly leapt into action swiping his claw quickly and little firebolts charged at Birdhead. Melody flew to Birdhead and used her fire to destroy the bolts. The Mythicals immediately scattered around the Fire Wing. Beakfall flew into the air and charged at the dragon, blowing his wings until the dragon\u2019s fire was temporarily out. He quickly clawed the Wing\u2019s throat, and backed away as he regained his fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Outraged, the Fire Wing inhaled and blew out powerful flames. Myrtlelana leapt into action, holding out her wing and creating a magical shield which seemed to come from the curious diamond on her forehead. In a heartbeat, the Fire Wing swiped his tail up for another attack, with tiny projectiles flying towards Zelda. She reacted swiftly, swiping her wings quickly to create a gust of wind to deflect them. The dragon yelped and used his wing as defence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Lionessfire focused on the Wing and used a mystical ball of light to aim at her. A light beam shot from the orb, and it hit the dragon in the chest, draining his fire until there was no more. Birdhead lifted himself and claws first, landed on the Fire Wing and clawing him hard, and with each team members power, either wind, fire or simply their own strength, they made it the last of the Wing, Incarnation of the Dragon Lord, Deku.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
