Inside the place was a place of harmony, prosperity, and life. Finally escaped from the treachery of the ominous Ashgle, phoenixes lived in an era of tranquillity. Today was their King’s ceremony. Their very first king, Birdhead, and they king they could have forever.
Hippogriffs danced in the sky, around the Great Pavilion. It was covered with large leaves and garnets, the phoenix’s stone of greatness. Inside was the Mythicals and Cherry, preparing Birdhead for his day.
Trumpets blared. Flutes played by occamys started, singing high but sweet melodies. In the background was the brave beat of phoenix drums, and the beautiful sound of dragon erhus. Silver triangles were played by trained flutterpeaches as they sang their songs of pride.
Deku, the Dragon Lord, stepped forward on a great oak bridge.
“It is time.”
His voice echoed through the watching crowd, silencing the excited chatter.
Birdhead stepped onto the bridge, exiting the Pavilion of Greatness. He looked nervously at the phoenixes as they tried to get a better view. The phoenix slowly walked towards Deku, his wings twitching. The dragon smiled and conjured a crown of garnets and tourmalines. It was dazzling. Tourmalines formed a circular chain, warm colours reflecting the beautiful sun. It drooped down to one single stone of a garnet, shaped like a dragon head. The most beautiful and stunning part of the crown, though, was the aquamarine stone’s carving, forming the eyes of the great beast, and leaves that curled around the tourmaline, almost covering it. Garnet meant greatness, but aquamarine was eternal power, wisdom and courage in ancient Phoenixia. With greatness and the three qualities combined, Birdhead, King of the phoenixes, would rule fair and just, in a peaceful, great reign. Deku placed this crown of powerful stones onto Birdhead’s head.
“All hail King Birdhead!”
The voice was obviously of a child’s but, the crowd joined in. Even the hippogriffs, occamys and other foreign tribes joined the chant.
“All hail King Birdhead!”
The Mythicals stepped out of the Pavilion. The chanting faded; too many phoenixes and guests were looking at the six figures. Beakfall had his crown of golden leaves on his head. They each walked forward, until they reached the side of King Birdhead. Deku smiled.
“And here, shall we always remember the power, courage and wisdom used by the Great Mythicals. Together, they are strong and mighty, and they are always together.”
A wave of cheers enveloped the skies. ‘Do you remember? I remember.’
The End
